Community Outreach and Programs Manager
Ekar’s Community Outreach & Programs Manager (COPM) plays a central role in the organization by planning, coordinating, and implementing community-based programs, educational initiatives, and food access efforts that advance Ekar’s mission. This role serves as a key point of connection between Ekar staff, community partners, educators, volunteers, and funders, ensuring programs are delivered effectively, documented accurately, and continuously improved based on feedback and reporting requirements.

Community Farmers
Ekar’s Community Farmers are an important part of our core farm team, working at the intersection of farming and food systems equity. This part-time role (~20 hrs/week) includes learning and performing all farm tasks and gaining a comprehensive view of all farm operations, including: harvesting, seeding, transplanting, weeding, trellising, soil cultivation, CSA distribution, irrigation and more. Community Farmers are asked to assist the Farm Manager in whichever tasks are required depending on the day/season.

Board Member
Ekar Farm is seeking new Board members who are passionate about community, land stewardship, and food justice to help guide our next chapter at our new permanent home at Shalom Park in Aurora.
Board members play a vital role in supporting Ekar’s mission, strengthening organizational sustainability, and serving as ambassadors within the broader community. We are especially interested in individuals who bring experience or interest in areas such as nonprofit governance, fundraising, finance, strategic planning, legal expertise, communications/marketing, community organizing, or urban agriculture and food systems.
We welcome board members who value collaboration, thoughtful leadership, and relationship-building and who are excited to help steward Ekar’s long-term vision while sharing responsibility for the organization’s growth and impact.
